Sources & method
What this site is
Support My Studies is a free, bilingual study resource for international students, especially Chinese-speaking students who study in English. Each technique or skill has its own page in English and in simplified Chinese.
How pages are written and checked
- Sources first. Each page is written from named, open sources: research reviews found through Europe PMC and Crossref, and encyclopedia passages that have their own references. Every sentence points to its source.
- Two checks before publication. Code checks that every sentence has a citation and that the Chinese text cites the same sources as the English text. A second language model then checks each claim against the passage it cites, and that the Chinese text says the same as the English text. Pages that fail are not published.
- Adapted, not machine-translated. The Chinese pages keep the same claims and sources, but the wording and examples are written for Chinese students.
- New pages. About two new pages are added each week.
The Sourcing Communication Playbook
The site started as the Sourcing Communication Playbook, a guide to communication between buyers and suppliers across cultures. It is kept unchanged as the module Sourcing & supplier communication. Those pages are practitioner advice and are marked as not yet source-checked.
